Richard R. Kennedy, aged 62, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on March 5, 2025, following a prolonged struggle with various health challenges.
Born on January 1, 1963, in Williamson, West Virginia, he was the son of Bonnie Jean Kennedy. He married his high school sweetheart Leslie Newman Kennedy on February 11, 1983.
Rick dedicated over 29 years of his career as an equipment operator for multiple companies. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and hunting. He cherished moments spent with friends and family, particularly relishing family gatherings that featured good food.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Kennedy, of Westerville; three sons, Andrew (Nicole) Kennedy of Cardington, Alexander Kennedy of Westerville, and Austin (Elizabeth) Kennedy of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Henry, Jack, and Lacy; a brother, Gary (Alisa) Kennedy of Columbus; father in law, David Newman, mother in law Sandra Leibee, four brothers-in-laws, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Rick appreciated his remarkable sense of humor and sharp wit, qualities that will be profoundly missed.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors that cared for Rick over the past several years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
