Mona Kay Dimarcellis Ramos

Mona Kay (DiMarcellis) Ramos was born January 2, 1940, went to home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2023, as a result of dementia at 83 years of age. She resided in Columbus, Ohio, for over 40 years but always had an affinity for her birthplace of Warwick, Rhode Island. She cared for the environment and taught her children and grandchildren the importance of respecting the planet. She retired in 2002 from Meijer Department stores where she worked for the Loss Prevention Department. She loved musical theater but especially dance. She also loved cooking and sharing that skill with her family.

Mona was preceded in death by her father, Amadeo (Red) DiMarcellis; mother Katherine (Sassi) Whittaker; and sister Phyllis DeMarcellis, all of Rhode Island. She is survived by her daughters Dionne Ramos-West (Pat) and Maria Cabreja (Jose); sons Eric and Joseph Aponte; and her adored grandchildren Frances (Frankie) Ramos, Anthony Ramos, Tyler Ramos (Veronica), Thomas Ramos, Ronald West, Ian West, Sophiabelle Ramos-West, Christian Cabreja, and Hadley Aponte-Goode; as well as her four great-grandchildren Mona, Arianna, Rowan and Olivia, all of whom reside in Columbus, Ohio.

She will be cared for by Day Funeral Service in Gahanna and her cremated remains will be scattered at her favorite childhood swimming location in Narragansett, Rhode Island in the near future.
