Michael L. Cunningham Sr, Jewett, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 25th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 16, 1953, in Dover, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph Cunningham and Freda (Burrell) Mansfield.
He worked in the mining and plastic industries, as well as running a small home-based auto repair shop. He was also a partner in Cunningham’s Custom Deer Processing and Taxidermy. He was a faithful member of the Deersville Faith and Fellowship Church. Mike was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and was a loyal supporter of St. Jude Hospital.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers Rick, Herb and Edgar “Lynn” Cunningham, sister Ruth Reed, and grandsons Chase and Connor Cunningham. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Cunningham; children Michael (Sheri) Cunningham Jr of Jewett, Doug (Michelle) Cunningham of Granville, and Jennifer (Tom) Scharschmidt of Delaware, Ohio; brother David “Paul” Cunningham of Carrollton and sisters Susan Dalton of Waynesburg and Sharon (Charles) Shepard; and grandchildren Logan Case, Jonah (Lindsay) Cunningham, Jarrett Cunningham, Brooklyn Grady, Jarra Cunningham, McKenzie Cunningham, Tyson Scharschmidt, Olivia Cunningham, Zoe Scharschmidt, Isaiah Cunningham, Torin Scharschmidt, and Jaxon Scharschmidt; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitors may call on the family on Friday, February 2nd from 4-8pm at the Deersville Faith and Fellowship Church (227 W Main St, Deersville, Oh) with service to occur on Saturday February 3rd at 11am, with his favorite pastor, Pastor Mike Cunningham Jr. officiating. A private internment will occur at a later time. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
