Mary Frances Blackburn
October 6, 1943 — December 11, 2024
Mary Frances (Kirk) Blackburn, 81, made her transition to her heavenly home on December 11, 2024, after a brief illness.
Mary was born in Nolan, WV, to the late John Kirk and the late Gertrude Slone Reed. Mary was a 1960 graduate of Chattaroy High School. After graduation, Mary married David Romans and moved to Chicago where she worked as a secretary for a real estate company for many years. They bore one child, Sandy Huxtable of Louisa, Kentucky.
Years later, Mary moved to Kentucky where she was married to the late Glen Blackburn. Mary is survived by her daughter Sandy (Romans) Huxtable, brothers Jim Kirk of Okeechobee, Florida, Tom (Brenda) Slone of Williamson, WV, and sister, Shelia Reed Tuck of Centerburg, Ohio.
Grandchildren, Amanda (Patrick) Boggs of Louisa, Kentucky, and Jeff (Breanna) Huxtable of Ashland, Kentucky.
Mary was blessed with three great grandchildren, Makinzee Romans, Madilynn, and Carson Boggs, and a host of friends and relatives.
A celebration of life will be held at Centerburg Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, December 14 at 1:00, with Pastor Mark Tuggle officiating.
