Kathleen "Kathy" Darfus/Amanda

Kathleen “Kathy” Darfus of Amanda, Ohio passed away on February 22, 2023 at her residence at the age of 71. She was known for her work at Fairhope Hospice, the non-profit organization, and was widely respected for her work as a nurse. Kathy also had a love for animals, and she showed this love by picking up stray animals quite frequently. She typically had a full farm of animals ranging from chickens to alpacas. She was a lifelong learner and a prolific gardener. She was the self-proclaimed “Queen of Saint Patrick’s Day and Halloween” and liked decorating everything for the season with the help of her three granddaughters. She will be remembered for her cooking, generous heart and sharp wit.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Phillip Darfus. She is survived by her loving children, Jessica, Rachel, and Ned (Jenny) Phillips; six grandchildren, Marin, Jayson and Ava Reinhart (of New York) and Lola, Taylor and Jules Phillips (of Amanda); sister, Patricia (Roger) Lunde; and many others who will miss her dearly.

Friends may call on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 6:00pm-7:30pm at Mt. Carmel United Church of Christ, 7205 Clearport Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Service to follow at 7:30pm.
