George Eugene Rowan passed away on February 27, 2023 at his home in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on August 19, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to the late George J. and Edith (Nagle) Rowan. George is also preceded in death by his wife, Lynn (Brunhoefer) and brother, Ronald Rowan. He is survived by girlfriend, Sis Burr; his children, Todd Rowan and Julie (Rowan) Gordish; grandchildren, Chad Gordish, Gracey Rowan-Gainer, Dilynn Gordish, and Noelle Gordish; special family friend, Freddie Schulze; and many other family and friends.

George served his country in the United States Army and after over thirty years he retired from Coca-Cola. He was an avid bowler and a member of the Central Ohio Bowling Hall of Fame. He earned many a ring and trophies and made many friendships during his years of bowling. George coached bowling at Olentangy Orange High School and Westerville North High School. He was a previous owner of Minico’s Italian Restaurant in Westerville, Ohio and worked at the Ohio State Fair for over thirty years at his All Day Beverage business, where you could always get a free refill. George also enjoyed working for the Ohio State University facilities for over fifty years.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather, loving partner, and friend. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. Friends may call on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 2:00-4:00pm at Discovery Church, 750 Cross Pointe Road, Suite L, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Celebration of Life to follow at Sequoia Pro Bowl, 5501 Sandalwood Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43229. In lieu of flowers please donate in George’s honor to Central Ohio Youth Bowling, USBC, 643 South Hamilton Road, Columbus, Ohio 43213. Day Funeral Service is honored to serve the family of George Eugene Rowan.
