Eric J. Carlisle Sr.
January 16, 1962 — January 23, 2023
Eric J. Carlisle Sr., born on January 16, 1962, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2023. Eric was known as "Uncle Eric," "Scooter," "Peanut," "Squirrel" and countless other names. His big heart, sense of humor and bluntness made him the fun-loving person we will cherish and miss. Eric is survived by his children, Kiona (Derrick) Butterbaugh, Eric "E.J." Carlisle Jr., Devin Carlisle of Lancaster, Ohio; sister, Danielle Carlisle; grandchildren, Jakob, Karly, Aamarya, Eric Jewett, Kingston; mother of his children, Tavie Miller; and lifetime friend, Ernestine Leftridge. His memories will live on with his uncle, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Eric is preceded in death by father, Stanley Carlisle and mother, Helen Carlisle.
Eric joined the United States Air Force after high school. He worked for Columbia Gas for 25+ years. The last nine years Eric has worked at Cintas. He was a great provider for his family, full of life, and a great storyteller. Eric enjoyed coaching his children, roller skating, dancing, swimming, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers, strangely enough going to the grocery store, and most of all fishing. His knowledge and stories will be missed.
A celebration of his life will be held at Good Shepherd Church 700 Spring Street, Lancaster Ohio 43130 on Saturday, January 28, 2023 with calling hours 11am-1pm followed by a memorial service starting at 1pm.

The family would like to thank all who have showed love and support during this difficult time. We all know that he wouldn't want us to be sad and distraught, but to live on and joke, to spread positivity, and to have one last cheer with him.
