Daiquiri Martina Gilbert passed away on March 1, 2023. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 25, 1985, to Thomas Kevin and Rachelle Theiodus (Kemp) Gilbert. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Kevin Gilbert and grandmother, Elle Mae Kemp. Daiquiri was a loving mother to Xavier Venson and Scarlet King. She is also survived by her mother, Rachelle Theiodus (Kemp) Gilbert; Stepfather, Randall Roper; sister, Della Clarice Gilbert; grandfather, Richard Kemp; uncles, Bob Kemp and Mark Kemp; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who live in Ironton, Ohio.
Daiquiri attended Briggs High School where she played several sports including basketball, track, volleyball, drill team and band. She was also on a travel league for the bowling team. After she graduated high school, she went on to attend Central State University where she played in the band and ran track. After a move to Kentucky, Daiquiri met her special friend, Lamont Appleton.
Daiquiri had a passion for pageants. She loved to dress up in beautiful pageant dresses, shoes, and makeup. She loved the pageant world and was a true fashionista. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Daiquiri loved her family and friends and lived life to the fullest and with love. She will be greatly missed but her loving spirit and memory will live on and never be forgotten.
Visitation to be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11:00am at Discovery Church, 750 Cross Pointe Road, Suite L, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 with funeral service at 12pm.
