Cory Matthew Oliver, age 47, entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was received by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; parents, Steven & Gwendolyn (Hardesty) Oliver; grandparents, James & Beverlie (Cox) Hardesty Sr., and Walter & Dorothy (Ogden) Oliver; and special dog, Snuggles.
Cory was born on September 25, 1975, in Piqua, Ohio. He married his sweetheart, Bethany, on June 24, 2018, in the chapel of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Cory is survived by his loving wife, Bethany (Shaw) Oliver; two step-daughters and their partners, Erin & Brien Gray of Lancaster, and Shannon Swing & CJ Velte of Greenville, SC; brother, Sean Oliver of Coshocton; mother and father-in-law, Barbara Shaw Gillotte & Don Gillotte; special aunt Mary Beth Hardesty also of Lancaster; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cory was a graduate of East High School and Fort Hayes Career Center in Columbus, Ohio. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University in 1999.
Cory had many interests, most notably his love for his pet family, Hamlet, Lucy, Lilly & Bella. He also loved birdwatching and keeping his feeders full. In addition, he enjoyed playing boardgames and video games.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Maple Street United Methodist Church at 438 E Wheeling Street, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11:00AM with Pastor Kevin Chambers officiating.
